Exmoor Society Walk: THE KNIGHTS, KNIGHTS AND WWII ON EXMOOR
Saturday 18th May at 10 am, Alderman's Barrow
Starting at Alderman's Barrow, you will see evidence of the Neolithic, Bronze, Medieval and Victorian ages. At Larkbarrow you will hear about the Knights who built a farm and tried to farm the moor. You will see evidence of the impact of World War 2 (this was a training area for the American Forces in their preparation for D-Day). Near Three Combes Foot we hope to see red deer.
Dogs on lead welcome.
Please wear suitable clothing and footwear. Participants take part at their own risk.
Free to all but donations are always welcome.
Bring packed lunch, shops, pubs and a café available in Exford.
