Learning about our environment from the owls of Exmoor - An illustrated talk and Chris with birds

TV wildlife expert and conservationist Chris Sperring focuses on the different species of owl in the Exmoor area, examining their behaviour and addressing conservation issues.

Chris explores the wider implications of the owl population as a way of assessing the state of the natural landscape for both wildlife and human use. Owls are top predators and their presence can be an indication of a healthy wild environment, just as their absence can be a warning that all is not well.

Chris is well-known for his appearances on the BBC’s Autumnwatch series and Radio 4’s A Living World and is a wonderfully engaging and entertaining speaker.

Advance booking: £10 to reserve the seat of your choice; £5 for unreserved seating (£6 on the door); 14s and under free.

Refreshments available and a locally-made pasty, costing £4, must be booked and paid for in advance for the interval.
