Saturday 11th May at 7:30, St. Luke's ChurchBuy Tickets
The Torfaen Welsh Male Voice Choir comprises members of Cwmbran Male Choir, Pontypool Male Choir and Garndiffith Gleemen, who have combined in order to revive singing in 4 part harmony under their talented young Musical Director Matthew Harrison. All three choirs have long and well respected histories with performances at a number of prestigious events. The Pontypool Choir formerly being known as the Pontypool Comrades Gleemen, was established in the 1930s and the Garndiffaith Gleemen in 1948. At first the choirs were made up of members drawn locally from the coal and steel industries, although in recent times, members hail from a wider area with more varied occupations. The original term 'Gleemen' arising because these choirs were formed to compete in the 'Glee' class - this category being for choirs of up to 40 voices.
Wine, Tea, Coffee and Ice Creams. A pre-booked light supper is available during the interval (see booking form).Buy Tickets
